HONORING FILIPINO VETERANS OF WORLD WAR II - UNITED STATES ARMY FORCES FAR EAST (USAFFE)
On Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Presidio San Francisco Golden Gate Club (Old NCO Club), Rich Fernandez of Step Up To Challenges received the Congressional Gold Medal in honor for his Grandfather Major Edward Fernandez (Ret) US Army, honoring him and all Veterans of WWII in the Philippines who were involved in the Battles of Bataan and Corregidor as well as the Bataan Death March. Rich received the medal from Brig. Gen. Windsor S. Buzza Commanding General of the 91st Division - Fort Hunter-Liggett, California.
